Established in 2017 & armed with the belief that education empowers people to change communities for the better, the Rev. Derrick K. Holmes Scholarship Fund endeavors to provide financial resources to African American high school graduates who plan to attend a college or university. The scholarship will be in the amount of $1000.00. Previous recipients of the award are:

2018-Miles McPherson
2019-Xavier Hines
To apply for the Rev. Derrick K. Holmes Scholarship, students must:
*Complete the Rev. Derrick K. Holmes Scholarship Application Form
*Be African American or of African descent
*Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
*Be a high school senior
*Have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA
* Apply to or be admitted to, or enrolled in a full-time four-year college or university
*Submit a 1200-word, double spaced, essay on the importance of education & how the applicant plans to use their degree to make their community better.
*Have a signed letter of recommendation from a non-relative (Teacher, Employer, Pastor, School Counselor, etc.)
